Here, timeless nursery furniture and home pieces are crafted from solid hardwoods, each one shaped with care, character, and intention. Led by seasoned sculptor and studio head Andries Visser, our wood studio is where raw timber meets quiet mastery. The Love Local vision guides every build: beautiful, safe, and enduring products made with South African families in mind.
Handmade in Our Own Studio
Unlike mass-produced alternatives, every cot, bench, and piece of nursery décor is built right here in our own facility, never outsourced, never rushed. All raw materials are sourced meticulously by the Love Local team.
We use ethically sourced hardwoods like:
African Walnut – rich in depth and warmth
European Beech – ideal for clean lines and strength

Andries Visser is a seasoned sculptor and the hands behind many of Love Local’s signature wooden pieces. With a background that blends corporate precision and artistic intuition, Andries brings a calm, considered approach to craftsmanship. Working from our in-house studio in Melkbosstrand, he leads the design and production of our heirloom-quality nursery furniture and décor. Committed to mentorship and community upliftment, Andries also guides a growing team of young artisans, helping shape both beautiful products and the future of local craftsmanship
